Gecko Character Model

The final project for my character modeling class. Initially it started out as a gift for a friend I was working on for fun outside of class, but some bad luck with the original final model lead to this lizard saving the day. The concept art was done by Nik Taylor, the artist for whom this was intended as a gift.

I was also taking a rigging class at the same time as the character modeling class so tossed a quick rig onto them for fun. Didn't touch the weights much since it was just for my own amusement, but this lizard is lucky so most of the deformation is pretty solid without any tweaking.

The rig controls for the face, a little experimental but my goal was to have something that a non-maya user could figure out without too much help so I tried to match the controler shape to the model shape.
